The purpose of the worship department can best be summed up like this:  “A faithful worship leader magnifies the grea​tness of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by skillfully combining God’s Word with music (and other art forms), thereby motivating the gathered church to proclaim the gospel, to cherish God’s presence, and to live for God’s glory.
Our Mission Statement: To equip people who serve in Worship Arts at JMC to lead others in worship, to glorify God, and to draw others to Christ.​

Below are several ways that team can become involved in the Worship Arts Department of our squad. If you have any questions, or would like more help in discovering how you can use your gifts to worship God, please contact Pastor Kishor Oza,Worship Arts Director, at "Sanctuary of Glory".

VOICE OF PRAISE CHOIR:

​

Our Adult Choir leads worship and provides special music in our 2:00 service 4 times a month and practices Friday  They sing a variety of styles of music.  They also present cantatas, and special musical presentations, and sing in our Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and Easter services. Anyone High School Age and older, who can carry a tune, is welcome to sing with us. Contact Abiceq Oza(Wang), Director, for more information.
DRAMA:

Our drama teams use their talents to enhance worship through the use of the dramatic arts. Many opportunities exist for those who have this kind of passion.  Please drop a line to Phoebe Jirel or Merina Thapa, if you are interested in helping in this ministry.

SPECIAL MUSIC:
​
There are many special groups at First Reformed Church, who through their musical talents bring praise to our God. Vocal, instrumental, solo, duet, trio, quartet,double quartet or choir... no matter what form it takes there are opportunities.  If you would like to present special music, please contact to Zaysun Jirel or Roman Subba.

J.M.C.SOUND:
​
This is a Southern Gospel Singing Group that meets approximately 9-12 times a year to practice on Fridays, 2:30-5:30 and sings about 4-5 times during the year.  Contact Milan Nepali if you are interested in singing in this fun group.
​
HEARTS OF PRAISE:
​
A common bond brings all these people together—music and a love for their Savior!  This squad’s singing group meets 9-12 times during the year on Fridays, 2:30-5:30 to practice and sings about 4-5 times during the year.  Contact Niran Nepali, if you are interested in singing in this group.

JMC BRASS ENSEMBLE:
​
The Brass Group practices periodically, and plays about 5-6 times a year.  If you play a brass instrument, and would like to play with the Brass Ensemble, please contact Abiceq Oza(Wang), Director, for more information.

LIGHT BAND:
​
​
If you enjoy playing contemporary worship, and have a heart for praising God, you might enjoy playing in our LIGHT Band.  This group leads worship on Saturday mornings, at our 11:00 service. They practice on Friday 2:00 to 5:30
​

LIGHT PRAISE TEAM:
​
​
Do you enjoy singing modern worship music?  Do you desire to bring praise to Jesus?  Our Praise Team leads our 11:00 Service in praise and worship.  We have teams that rotate, and sing 3-4 times a month.  They rehearse on Fridays, from 2:00-5:30 pm.  If you are interested in being a part of this team, please contact Grace Shrestha.

ELEMENTARY COMMUNITY SPRING MUSICAL:
​
​
Each Spring (March – June), we put on a Community Youth Musical for Grades K-5 that not only gives children an opportunity to learn to use their gifts to serve God through music, worship, dance, and art, but it also teaches them lessons from the Bible for living for Jesus.  Please stay posted for dates and times.
JESUS MUSIC CHOIR: For those children, Grades 8-10, who attend Bible Class, they are able led in worship during this time, and several times during the year will sing these songs for church on Saturday morning.

STAGE DESIGN:

If you enjoy designing stages, or setting up the ambiance for services (i.e. candles, decoration, artistic ideas, even abstract ideas…please contact Seluna Thapa in how you may use your unique skills to help us worship Christ in unique ways, and impact others.

COSTUMING:
​
​
From time to time, we need those who can help provide costuming for our musical events. This is a great way for you to use your skills to worship. Let Rachael Koirala know if you are interested in this important ministry.

ART COMMUNITY:
​
​
Our Ministry is in the process of building a community of artists, who will be able to share with one another, be advocates for Christian art, train up new artists coming up in the church, and to provide art to help others worship and see Jesus in fresh new ways.
​

JMC SOUND TEAM:
​
​
If you enjoy technology, this might be a great ministry for you. We need volunteers to help serve at all of our services.  Usually volunteers work 2-3 times a month.
​

JMC VIDEO TEAM:
​
​
A new ministry we are starting is a team of people who can compile or take video and put it together to use for various services. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please drop a line to Bijay Lama.
